Understood bud.  Was just a wonderin!  Appreciate the replies, will keep an eye out for updates.

Understood, so only way to use the CVS Client then would be to setup cross compiler and download the cvs and compile the bin then I take.  There is no pre-compiled CVS of the client I would assume?
#3
Update - I copied over a CVS from back in December and it works fine, just current CVS that I am having an issue with.  Will see if I can find the difference.

Anyone else having issues?  Vomp compiles fine and all, but when I boot the MediaMVP it just hangs at connecting to server.  Something change on CVS that I am missing?  Or is it just me hehe!  Will keep troubleshooting prob something I changed and forgot but thought I would throw the question out there.

Thanks

VOMP General / MVP / Anyway to lock channels?
December 28, 2005, 04:21:04
Just curious if there was any way or possibly a feature request to have the ability to lock channels.  That would just add to the MVP Capability is to be able to put a parental lock so you could put the device in kids rooms etc.  I know there is an old unmaintained lock plugin for vdr, might have to work on getting it going, but was wondering if there would just be a way to incorporate it directly into vomp?

Thanks and hope everyone had a great holiday and a safe upcoming one!

Alrighty then, thanks go out to Brian Walton!  It is much appreciated.

I did just realize that there are yet a few leftover problems I didn't see before.  If you have channel #'s that are 5 digit.  Like 10350 for instance, it won't goto it.  It will stop at 103 which is a channel too.  Any way around that?

Another feature request for Brian then hehe, would be to have the ability to punch in a channel # in the guide to go straight to that listing.  Dunno how tough that would be to do.

Thanks again!

I too would love to see this, but am a patient man! :)  Some sort of softdevice output or as mentioned a vlc client or whatever.

So is Klaus the real Klaus?  If so very nice to see your interest in the project!

Thanks Chris, that looks awesome, you did a very very fine job!  Very much progress over the last ones!  Thank you!  I know you are finishing working out any final bug reports before your release.  But I will put in my request for the next betas after that and ask for some way to setup recordings through the MVP now that you have a GUIDE!

Lookin real good bud!  Thanks again!

VOMP General / MVP / Re: VDR memory usage
September 16, 2005, 22:37:40
VDR 1.2.6 WHAT!  Hehe, I know there was some memory leaks in some of the developer builds awhile back, but I think we got them all sorted out.  Never even seen VDR 1.2.6 honestly so I am not sure if it would have such a thing or not.  VDR itself uses very little memory.  At least that I have seen.  Using TOP linux itself of course ties up memory just for preperation I guess but I never touch my swap file at all.  I have 1g memory and like 512 swap.  But VDR is never using more than 3% Cpu etc. So I am not sure there.  I will ask around.

I found my problem, for some reason my 2nd card wasn't loading.  I cleaned the terminals and now problem is solved.  I run with VFAT=1 and don't seem to have an issue, but honestly haven't watched more than a movie at a time with the unit, so can't say it is a true test.  All VFAT=1 does is rename RECORDINGS not LIVETV to a format readable by a VFAT system.  So I can't see how that would be related.

But thanks for the idea of trying the channel that VDR was running, that made me investigate that my card wasn't loading.  I don't record tons so I hadn't a clue! :)

I still have this issue with 0.0.11 Dongle also.  I get a complete channel listing, but every channel FTA etc shows Unavailable when I select it.  I will note I am running VDR 1-3.32.  Maybe it introduced something new?  It changed the way some things are handled on plugins.  But Vomp compiles just fine without error, so I assumed it is all good.  Let me know if there is anything you would like me to try.

Thanks as always.

VOMP General / MVP / Dongle 0.0.10 Issues
September 11, 2005, 00:12:16
Sorry it took so long to post this, been out of town.  But since the changes with Dongle 0.0.10, have not tried 11 that just came out but doesn't appear there is any other changes besides widescreen stuff.  But I get the channel listing now but am getting Unavailable channel on all of my channels.  This wasn't happening on 0.0.9.  Just let me know what you would like me to check.

Thanks

Either that, or make it a configuration option in the Configure section.

Recording Playback Default:   Play/Resume
