Ubuntu 9.04 and Hanno's vdr packages, which uses e-tobi. These have vompserver 0.3.1.

However I can't play any recordings. Every single one fails with error note "Error playing recording". Any ideas?

Edit: Also Mediaplayer listing is totally empty if that helps you to give me instructions.

Stupid question, but do you have the same version of dongle and server?

I have 0.3.1 of both in fedora5 and they are working well.

vdr 2.0.3-3 + vompserver 0.4.0 + MediaMVP H4 + Raspberry Pi with vompclient

You also have to make sure your MVP has reloaded the 0.3.1 dongle, so you might take out the
power plug and be carefull that the right dongle is taken while it's booting.

This error message would be typically show up when trying to stream on an 0.3.0 dongle.

Carsten.

Both are 0.3.1. First I had Yaris 0.3.0-10 version of the dongle with 0.3.1 vompserver and that did not work. Before posting to this thread, I changed the dongle to 0.3.1. I ensured that new dongle was loaded correctly (for example different background image), but the error stayed when trying to play recording.

Another strange thing is that when launching live tv, I had to do it twice to get it working. On the first time, it just hangs to black screen but going back to main menu and trying again fixes the problem. This is annoying too.

maybe its related to the same like described here: http://forum.loggytronic.com/index.php?topic=358.45
If nothing helps, you could try compile from source. Just an idea......

Ok, I will try that next when I get back home from my holiday trip.

When I got back from my trip, there was an upgrade to vompserver in Hanno's packages. I just installed that one and now it is possible to play recordings fine.

So problem solved :)
