Is there or will there be support for external remuxer in vompserver (like streamdev)?

What do you mean by support "like Streamdev"?

DVB -> vdr -> streamdevserver -> streamdevclient -> vdr -> vompserver -> MVP ?

This setup I have in my dev environment already.

vdr -> vompserver -> mvp
vs
vdr -> streamdev -> vlc

I just thought, that with externremux user could "burn" subtitles into stream on-the-fly.
Uses quite much CPU, but that would be quick fix for viewing subtitled broadcasts and recordings with vompserver & mvp.

Yes, support for subtitles is quite important for m(y wif)e :)

For me, I think that would be quite a bit of work to implement down a path I don't want to go. If I were to spend time on subtitles I would just want to do it properly - I just haven't got there yet. Also it looks like subtitles are done in different ways in different countries.

Chris: I agree. That would be just "quick and dirty" way of doing subtitles.

There is two ways to do subtitles, and unfortunatelly here in Finland they use both!
DVB subtitles is used by local TV stations and teletext subtitles is used by "big players" (Canal+, Viasat, ...)

Native subtitles support would be ideal.
