Hi lupus11,

your concept has one more big disadvantage: you can only use ONE MediaMVP. At the moment I have 4 MediaMVPs here running m    simultaneously, so that wouldn't be a solution for me.
I am not really sure, but I think that has also been done by Dominic Morris (before he made the mediamvp-plugin). He just called it "mvp"-plugin and used the mediamvp as a output-device. But I am not really sure - perhaps you should contact him.

I am still using VDR 1.2.6 and have made the same experiences with VDR 1.3 as Chris - it is not working stable for me, and I have no advantages because i just use VOMP/vdr-backend and not the vdr-frontend. There are too big changes from subversion to subversion. I will give it a try when Klaus has released VDR 1.4. (Ate the moment there is only one thing i am missing with vdr 1.2: autoPID).

So please do NOT drop support for VDR 1.2!!!

VOMP General / MVP / Re: pausing live TV

I had the same idea
--> http://www.loggytronic.com/forum/index.php?topic=49.0

But I don't think any more that this patch could be used by vomp.

Sometimes, when vdr starts up, the vompserver fails to allocate the UDPReplier socket. (I have no idea why, I believe it only happens when the vdr is automaticallly restarted by runvdr after a crash. ???)

The UDPReplier constructor calls the DatagramSocket constructor, which fails to allocate the socket and returns a DatagramSocket that's not initted. The UDPReplier doesn't notice this, however, and uses the DatagramSocket in its threadMethod. Because the DatagramSocket is not initted, it always returns immediately from its waitforMessage method and the UDPReplier thread enters a non-blocking infinite loop that uses 100% CPU time - that means the vdr is no longer able to carry out scheduled recordings and won't react to SVDRP connections anymore. :o

It would be great if you could add an error check that prevents these infinite loops.

Hi Lodda,

I think the rewind-function is generally not working in VOMP until now, independant from the remote-type:

VOMP General / MVP / Time in Recordings-List
December 29, 2005, 12:53:50
Hi,

I just noticed, that in the recordings-list the times are not as expected. I think VOMP has a problem with summer/wintertime. The recordings, which were made at 22.15 while summertime are now (in wintertime) shown as "21.15".

By the way: Could the format of the date/time in the recordings be made configurable by i18n? [Same for the EPG, but this is already tracked as a bug I think]. e.g.: "%d. %m. %H:%m" in the i18n-file.

Happy new Year to you all!

VOMP General / MVP / HDTV
December 23, 2005, 04:42:54
Hi,

I was just thinking about the possibility of watching HDTV with VOMP/MediaMVP.
Is the Mpeg-Decoder in the MediaMVP fast enough for HDTV? Will it be or is it already possible to watch HDTV with VOMP? :-)

VOMP General / MVP / Vomp 0.1
December 19, 2005, 14:44:46
Hi Chris,

QuoteIf muted and volume controls are used, it unmutes

One small thing:
If the volume is at 100% and I press Vol+, it doesn't unmute.

Am I allowed to write an announcement for Vomp 0.1 at vdr-portal.de?

Yours.

At the moment Sourceforge seems to have some problems with their servers, too.
@Chris: Perhaps you could upload it additional to loggytronic as usual, unless sourceforge is working again properly? :-)

VOMP General / MVP / File Size
December 18, 2005, 04:02:41
Hi,

why is the file-size of the 0.1 dongle.bin 500 kb smaller than the last version 0.0.17?
Have you cleaned the code?

Schnurps

Edit: This 867kb-Version from Sourceforge doesn't work for me...

I don't have these problems with the new version and 100 Mbit.
Perhaps you could make an option in the setting:
"lan-speed: slow - normal - fast", so that is working optimal with the different lan-speeds.

While I was playing around with the new EPG, I noticed that it becomes slower and slower, the more I scroll the list down (up to 10 seconds for 1 channel downwards. One time VOMP crashed and wasn't responsive any more by looking through the EPG. Any idea? :-)

VOMP General / MVP / Re: Translation Efforts
December 13, 2005, 23:50:23
Hi Chris,

I just tested the new version and i can just say: WOW!!!

Some improvements for the german translation:

+ 24 Stunden -> + 24 Std.
- 24 Stunden -> - 24 Std.
Kanal auswählen -> Umschalten
Go: Preview -> Go: Vorschau
EPG / Zurück: Schließen -> Back: EPG schließen

Have you thought about localizing the date/time in EPG?
Perhaps you could also add the programme-times in that "info"-box (not EPG - that one I get now with ne green button).

As always: Thanks for your great work!!!

André

I have the same problem with Dongle 16.
The German Music-Channels "Viva" and "Vivaplus" seems to be not reachable via DVB-S at the moment, and I have to power down the MVP to get it working again after accessing one of those channels.
I think the same is with our "Kinderkanal" in the night. (not completely sure).
Is it possible to check this and to respond with this "Chanal not reachable"-Box?

VIVA:12670:v:S19.2E:22000:309:310:311:0:12732:0:0:0
VIVA PLUS:12552:v:S19.2E:22000:171:172:179:0:12120:0:0:0

- a progress bar indicating how far a running (live TV) programme has advanced
would be _very_ nice (similar to this one
mvpmc.sourceforge.net/images/myth_osd.jpg but doesnt need to be alpha blended)
I have been planning this for recorded programmes but I hadn't thought about live. Maybe this could be done...

What function should this progress bar have in live tv?
a) progress of the actual programme (e.g. 20/45 mins). -> My suggestion is to put that information into the epg-box. (cp. http://www.vdrskins.org/vdrskins/displayimage.php?album=41&pos=1 - posted a while ago here in the forum)

b) in the future a progress bar for the timeshift-buffer (how far behind live-tv?)

Just my thoughts to that.
Such a progress bar would be nice, but I suppose there are more important things to do first.
It is really fantastic to persecute the progress and improvement of VOMP. :-)
Thanks Chris!!!  :)

Suggestion for the German Translation:

EPG -> EPG
Page up -> Seite hoch
Page down -> Seite runter
-24 hours -> -24 Stunden
+24 hours -> +24 Stunden
Guide / Back: Close -> EPG / Zurück: Schließen
Rec: Set timer -> Rec: Aufnahme programmieren
Sel channel -> Kanal auswählen
There are no programme details available for this period -> Es sind keine Programminformationen für diesen Zeitraum verfügbar.
No programme details -> Keine Programminformation.

Perhaps some translations are too long or not to the point. Feel free to post better ideas. :-)
