I had that problem some months ago - for me a reboot of both, mvp and vdr, helped out. :)

Some German Translation addet. :)

I noticed that this was much quicker in earlier versions (0.2.3?). It slowed down in 0.2.4, but therefore it is working stable now. Does it have something to do with the changes in the demuxer?

Surely a developer can tell you more about this! :)

VOMP General / MVP / Re: Strange boot problem.

Hi,

i have the MediaMVP-revision D3A.
At the moment there are not many problems. I mostly had the boot-problem when resetting the MVP after a VDR/VOMP-server-crash. Or when i unplugged the MediaMVP and plugged it again (e.g. for watching football-matches in summer at the terrace... ;-)).
I am regrettably not an expert, but a friend discovered that this has something to do with a no more opened/accessable port on the server. When this happens, just a system-reboot seems to help. Sorry, I cannot descript this more detailled, but if you are interested in that, I will ask him for more information.

I had such problems with booting, too. Never researched the cause...

Hi Chris,

what's up with the translations? Would really like to add some more german translations for timers etc. - could you glance at the translations-thread? :-)

VOMP General / MVP / Recordings and timers
August 30, 2006, 21:39:51
There are 2 thinks I am wondering about in the newest vomp-version:

Timers: It seems to be unpossible to delete a current timer.

Recordings: Something is cusious with the directories. I have a dir- tree like this:

"Monk"
|-> "Monk"
       |-> "_"
              |-> "2005-05-31.22.11.99.99.rec"
              |-> "2005-11-29.22.10.99.99.rec"
       |-> "2005-06-07.22.11.99.99.rec"
       |-> "2005-06-28.22.11.99.99.rec"

In VDR-Admin they are all displayed in one Folder "Monk" and all named "Monk", in VOMP they are displayed in a Folder "Monk" and the recordings from the folder "_" in a sub-folder "Monk". In the subfolder the recordings are unnamed.

Any idea? :-)

QuoteVDR version 1.4.2 is now available at

A 'diff' against the previous version is available at

A 'diff' against the latest maintenance patch is available at

A summary of all the major changes since the last stable
version can be found at

http://www.cadsoft.de/vdr/download.htm

This version is source compatible with the previous version,
so plugins only need to be recompiled. However, plugins that
react on cStatus::MsgSetVolume() may need to be adjusted in
order to work with the fixed handling of relative volume
changes (which was introduced in maintenance patch 1.4.1-2).

Thanks to the many people who have contributed in the making,
testing and debugging of this new version of VDR.

Have fun!

Hi Stephen,

here is a thread with some ideas. Although it is written in April, it is still up to date. :-)

http://www.loggytronic.com/forum/index.php?topic=126.0

The thing I am mostly missing is a better timer-support: editing timers, possibility to select a special folder, chaning times etc.
From your suggestions: picture-support would be great! :-)

Regards,
Schnurps
