I agree - if you can watch the Channel on the VDR you also can watch it on the MVP

Hey

This works fine for this Problem - now i get all Recordings from VDR.

I still have many disconnects (while taking the Recordings from VDR or if i dont used MVP for some hours) but i think this can be solved i one of the future Versions !

Hi

I just want to push this thread up again.

I want to ask the author if he have found  out why not all Recordings are displayed on the MVP wich are on the MVP-Server.

As i sayed in a older posting - i think there is a problem because of my "big Storage" - everything else works realy fine and i love this Projekt - but we have 8 MVP´s here within this Network all have the same problem - perhaps there is a way to enable a special log-File wich show´s information about the problem so you are able to fix it ?

Best Regards

If i count it right - there are currently 784 Recordings within the /video00 Directory.

I´m not able to say how many Recordings are displayed by VOMP-Client because there are many subdirs.

In a other Postintg i wrote that i get a "lost Connection" error on opening the Recordings-Menü - if immediately reconnect and open it again the most times it works fine.

I think it´s a timeout-Problem because of the big /Video.. storage.

No i have mentioned that VOMP don´t display all the Recordings wicht VDR (Server-Machine) have.

I think (but i´m not a Programmer) that there is a timeout while collecting the REcordings and so some Recordings dont get Transfered to the MVP.

Can anyone (Perhaps the Author) can help me to trace down the Problem - perhaps by some additional DEBUG output or something else ?

I love the MVP plugin - it works perfekt here but this is a realy silly problem... i think it´s no big Problem but it should be solved in the Future :-)

Just like to say that with the NEW Update this Problem is gone - now i get "Channel not ..." - Good Work !

Just want to say that i just have updated VOMP Client and Server - i think everything run´s better but same Problem with "open Recordings"

Hi Chris

Thanks for Reply - no - i usualy can watch recordings - but when i open the "recordings" menu there is a 50/50 Chance that wit works - else i get "connection lost"

Yes - i think it´s a Timeout Problem because VDR needs time to collect and send the recordings-List and because of the big storage it takes too long ?

Hi

Vomp runs realy good - but i have problems opeing the Recordings on the Clients.

We have 4 Client´s here - same Problem on each (Connected to 2 Servers)

The last Week we have recordet very much - and i think the problem is going stronger.

At the first time i open Recordings it crash to 90% - if i immediately reconnect and try open again it crashes 40%  at 3. try 20% and so on.

Here we have 7,5 TB Storage wich is used up to 3,3TB
Perhaps there is a problem with "too much" Recordings!

Can anyone tell me how to backtrace the Problem and to findout where exact the Problem is ?

Hi

Here on this Network we have 3 VDR-Servers - all with VOMP Server installed and there are 6 MVP´s at the Network

Everything run´s good - there is a problem in Usage:

Everyone who starts his MVP (or puts it back from Standby) have to select the Server to wich it should connect.

What is good for me (for Admin) is bad for the "End-User" - is there any way to configure for each MVP wich is the default  VDR-Server.

It happens when VDR dont deliver any date (for example when my PW-CI dont´t work again...) then the only way is to Power off the MVP.

When i disconnect the Network from the MVP (or turn off the WLAN-Router) the Client Say´s "Connection lost" and with a Press to the OK Button everything is ok.

BTW: Works great over WLAN (54mbit)

Yes thats it - but i have to change my LinuxSystem - as i wrote on a other Topic - here on Kernel 2.4.13 and a realy old suse the Plugin dont work very stable.

Same Hardware and VDR Config on a Debian 2.4.34 at my Brothers VDR the Plugins works very stable !
