VOMP General / MVP / Re: Testers Needed!

@Marten,
at all I don't see any errors in the log...

@Chris: when the MVP freezes, the connection seem to stay, in the log I find "Num of mvp receivers up to 2" with just one box connected.

@all: anyone else with this kind of problem?

@Marten

I don' find "[ERR]  RRProc  - recvReq err 1" in the vomp.log.

I've tried the files, but it doesn' t make a difference for me!

Hello Chris,
I just finished my own dongle, but no difference, I can switch a while, and suddenly while switching it freezes, exactly whilst hitting  the button. Sonmetimes OSD continues
to work  a moment, most times I just get the led flashing with the rc buttons...
I allways was thinking my network is OK...  I can easyly watch 6 streams or even more with the mvp, vomp on windows and vlc clients... no probs...
Cheers

Hi Chris,
I've now managed to compile the plugin for my system, but I can' get the makedevenv-script working; could you consider to offer an actual cvs-dongle for download, just to be shure to test with a right one?

Hi Chris,
I've just managed to install the precompiled dongle and plugin I've got from Carsten, works so far, but when I do some channel switchicng, the box freezes and needs a power cycle reboot.
The same was before, with V. 0.2.7, but not so often.
The box I'm actually testing with is Model E1.
Later I will try to compile the plugin itself on my machine, but Carsten is using the same version of VDR from Toby's repository, so this shouldn't be the reason...

Hi,
I have two D3A running, a friend another two, all without any probs or special configuration, they are just running since years now, with different versions of vomp; I think yours might have got a hardware problem, maybe a small one; you should consider to try another box...
Sorry

I have finally worked it out for me - I've changed /etc/environment to ISO-8859-15 instead of UTF-8...

Hello, and thanks for your replies.
I'm using the official 0.2.7 release (Tobis Repository), and theese errors only take place in the epg-texts. If there are any "umlaute" in the menu etc, they are displayed correct.

Hi,
I have the problem that the special german chars like ÄÜÖ etc. do not show up right. Eg the "ä" shows up as "ä", not looking very nice...
The original VDR-OSD is OK, also the view in the live-plugin, just the Vomp/MVP makes probs.
I already tried different codepages on the server, but all the same.
Any hints?

Cheers,

This is the link of the IPTV-Plugin, you can connect streaming sources via url in your channels list and hopefuly play them also in Vomp... maybe thats what you are looking for!

OK, I solved it: I found out, that any other video dir iI was trying out works, so I've stopped the raid1 of the /home -partition, formatted one partition newly, copied all from the old to the new partition, mounted the new partition at the old place and it worked again.
But I don't have any idea why...

VOMP General / MVP / Connection lost...
November 28, 2007, 19:01:47
Hello Forum,
if I want to open the recordings via Vomp, I get the message "Connection lost" on the screen. I have to restart Vomp; live tv works.
I was messing arround with the file rights, but now I've tried every possible combination.
My configuration: I have a seperate home-partition, one of the dirs is /home/video.
This is linked to /var/lib/video.00. Never had a problem with this, since I've started messing arround with the file rights... but now its all user:group vdr:vdr, with mode 775... should be OK...
If I make a video dir /var/lib/video.00, all is working OK.  (With the same file rights...)
Accessing the recording dir through vdr directly is working well all the time.
Any hint?
Thanks!

As TheAlamo stated in the old threat, an ifconfig returnes "DMA chan:1"; maybe thats the more important trick of the patch... but its just a guess...
