The running vompserver is not the latest version. I hope this is not the reason :)

Hi,

if I reboot my RPI, after reboot the vompclient can not controlled by cec, but if I press a key the TV shows a message to select the cec client that should be controlled. If I now select the the RPI, I even so can not control the vompclient. After I restart the vompclient, every thing is ok.

Claus

PS.: After reboot, the hdmi output is disabled, until the vompclient will started. On shoutdown I see the console 1 and the shutdown log messages.

Hi,

I have found a problem with a local vdr server.
If I connect the vompclient to a local vdr (by using the -s 127.0.0.1) Option, I get the recordings list of my other vdr PC.
OK, this is nice, since I have no recordings on my local vdr, but mainly not that, what I expected ;)

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / vchiq problem
October 19, 2012, 19:28:30
Hi,

since I use the latest firmware, and vc libs, I get this error message:
20:23:13.561775 [info]   2702 Core - Starting up...
20:23:13.564580 [info]   2702 Core - Signal handlers set up successfully
20:23:13.566692 [EMERG]  2702 Core - Could not retrieve free virtual console, please change permissions
20:23:13.572944 [notice] 2702 Remote - Init LibCEC
* failed to open vchiq instance

If I look in the firmware and kernel change log, I see, that there a lot of changes to the vchiq.
Do you also has this problem with the latest version or do you know a solution?

Hi,

most time, but not every, if I select one of the dvb-t NDR channels, I get only a black screen. Some times I get this also on some other channels, but the most time only on the NDR channels. The audio is every time OK. If I switch mutiple times to the same channel, every 10. I get also the video.
I use a local running VDR.
Do you have any idea?

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / EPG and UTF-8
October 17, 2012, 08:10:05
Hi,

there is a problem with EPG data that contains UTF-8 characters. If it contains e.g. a German Umlaut, the EPG text will be cut at this character. Do you know about this, and is there a solution?
Must I set especial environment variables to fix this?

Hi,

if I have problems with my dvb-t reception, sometimes the vompclient hang and it is not possible to restart it. Do you know about this. If not, do you think it will helps to fix it, if I can make a short record of such a stream for you?

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / Show version
October 16, 2012, 11:04:40
Hi,

is it easy possible, to show on the menu screen a small versions info. It's only for development, so that I simply can ask the customers, witch version they are running. I will prefer, if I can set this string by a command line option, or better by environment variable at compile time, so that I can add the package versions number.

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / hdmi_mode setting
October 09, 2012, 14:45:14
Hi,

at the actual version of the vompclinet it is necessary to set up the hdmi_mode in the config.txt file. Otherwise the TV disconected from the RPI ( "no signal" message will be shown) if a TV stream starts.
It seems, that older versions of the vompclient don't has this problem. Also if I stop the vompclient (actual version), most times the TV shows the "no signal" message or switch to a other program.
Do you have any idea, what is the reason for this. Especially the first problem is bad, because than no video will be shown, until a working configuration was found, and this differed for several TVs, so that I can not setup a default value.

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / Volume control not working
September 25, 2012, 11:01:33
Hi,

the volume control don't work. It is possible to change the volume setting by keyboard, but this has no effect for the volume. Also a change of the volume by the alsamixer has no effect.

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / lirc support
September 13, 2012, 09:59:19
Hi,

does there is lirc support in the vompclient, or do you think, that it is a big think to add it? Or is it alternatively possible to add support for reading the keyboard input from stdin instead of from /dev/input/event*? Or is there a way to control the vompclient via something like the svdrpsend? Or do you know an other way, how I can use a lirc remote control to control the vompclient?

Hi,

with the latest version of the vompclient (version 76aef7237b9a2f465e4d3d7ef4250eb7a087866c), the vompclient and than also the RPI crash short time after starting TV replay. If I select a SD-TV channel, the system crash after a view second and the vomp client shows the message "Connection lost". On HD channels only the keyboard connection lost after a view seconds. In both cases the keyboard LED flashes up before the system crash and I see some short video interrupts.
With a older Version of the vompclient I have not had this problems (no crashes). Yesterday I have also added my mpeg2 license key.

Do you have any ideas?

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / support for local server
September 10, 2012, 17:09:54
Hi,

I have found on http://code.google.com/p/mediastuff/wiki/VompVdrProtocol a description for a modification that make it possible to detect a vomp server automatically, also if it is running on the same machine as the client.
Did you think, that it is possible to add this modification to the vomp client? The reason is, that I run the vomp server also on the RPI.

Hi,

where must I store the background images, so that the vomp-client can find and load them?

VOMP for Raspberry Pi / Bug in Vompclient-raspi
September 08, 2012, 13:54:56
Hi,

I have a problem with the vompclient-raspi. It can not connect to the VDR because there are two connections at the same time at login time.
The Problem is the line 651 in vdr.cc
setCharset(Osd::getInstance()->charSet());
This will be called until the login procedure is running. If I comment this line out, the connection to the VDR runns well.
