QtVomp / Some feedback
October 29, 2008, 20:39:42
Now I have it working..  :)

I miss my channel numbers.  We have nearly 5,000 channels, so have seperated them into channel blocks.  Consquently I go to things like channel 1205, or 1414 etc.  Anyway to do that in qtvomp?

Radio is missing..

I moved the libraries out of the way and found I had another newer set in /usr/lib

all working now.. Thanks..

qtvomp: symbol lookup error: qtvomp: undefined symbol: _ZN6Phonon11VideoWidget5eventEP6QEvent

But I have

The main issue is this:

Binding to socket 3024 failed. Maybe you have a VDR instance running on this machine.

It now is resolving the 127.0.0.1, but I can't connect as it's on the same machine.

qtvomp -p localhost
main: argument passed to app: "-p"
main: argument passed to app: "localhost"
MainWindow::MainWindow called
VDRThread::run started
VDRThread::eventLoopReady called
VDRThread::vdrFindServer called
VDRThread::waitForEventLoop started
VDRThread::waitForEventLoop ended
VDRThread::initVDRFindServer called
Binding to socket 3024 failed. Maybe you have a VDR instance running on this machine.

:-(

Or is there a way to make it work?

Hi rdoac,
QuoteAm trying to find a way to run the mencoder with a nice priority of -10 or so
Maybe just a setuid shell script (or executable) that wraps mencoder and "nices" before really starting it.
There is taht many options to mencoder - maybe we can find something provding sufficient quality by lower CPU usage (would be even great to have some automatic choosing of the right parameters depending on CPU...).

Regards
Andreas

I though of that, but I still get a permission denied, to setuid you make the user root and chmod +s the script right?

Anyway, I'm playing with "verynice" and have added mencoder to the list of programs which need high nice values.  It takes  a minute or so, then kicks in.

I'm playing with this at the moment.  I have succeeded in getting vdr playing avi's and am almost happy.

However, I have changed test1.sh slightly to fill the screen with the avi:

#convert AVI to mpeg2, suing mencoder see
#http://www.wiki.csoft.at/index.php/MEncoder_Scripts
convertAVI() {
mencoder -oac copy -ovc lavc -of mpeg -mpegopts format=dvd:tsaf \
  -vf scale=720:576,harddup -ofps 25 \
  -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg2video:vrc_buf_size=1835:vrc_maxrate=9800:vbitrate=5000:\
keyint=15:vstrict=0:aspect=16/9 \
$RTOP -o $FIFO "$1" > /tmp/mencoder.out 2>&1 &
  MPID=$!
}

However on my Sempron 3000 I am getting stuttering.  As root I need to renice mencoder to 15.  Am trying to find a way to run the mencoder with a nice priority of -10 or so.  I know the pc could become sluggish during this but I can live with it.  Any ides?

Not sure it's that, as I'd already done a vomp directory in the plugins.

Ah.. Thanks, I notice I have a vompserver directory now where I needed vomp before.

I have the same problem.  Version 1 works using tfp on my server, but the later firmware doesn't.
#56
:-(

I don't have a windows build environment.  I only really use Linux for that.

No chance of just sticking your copy on something quick like megaupload.com that we can access knowing that we won't get any support etc?
#57
Oooo.

Can we have a version to download?
#58
Any chance of a interim vista version?
#59
what is this patch against?  The current cvs or the current release?
