VOMP General / MVP / MediaMVP does not start
September 23, 2011, 17:49:15
Hi

I have VDR 1.6.0 with vompserver 0.3.0. Everything worked fine. Then I moved home and had to change dvb cards from C to T. But no other changes was made.
For some reason MediaMVP now seams to stop the loading procedure leaving the last box white on the boot up screen.
Log stops with:
19:25:47.072790 [debug]  BOOTPD - Starting wait
19:25:47.203282 [debug]  Tftpd - Wait finished
19:25:47.203397 [debug]  TftpClient - Client handler started
19:25:47.203510 [debug]  Tftpd - Starting wait
19:25:47.203544 [debug]  TftpClient - RRQ received for vomp-dongle
19:25:47.203626 [info]   TftpClient - File: '/usr/share/vdr-plugin-vompserver/vomp-dongle'
19:25:53.270532 [info]   TftpClient - File transfer finished
19:25:53.270669 [info]   TftpClient - processMessage terminating connection

So I wondered if there is something wrong in my setup and installed brand new ubuntu on another pc and installed vdr stuff from the repos. Ending up with VDR 1.7.16 with vompserver 0.3.1.
Using this new VDR box with MediaMVP the bahaviour is the same and the log stops:
19:30:47.223699 [debug]  BOOTPD - Starting wait
19:30:47.354311 [debug]  Tftpd - Wait finished
19:30:47.354400 [debug]  TftpClient - Client handler started
19:30:47.354540 [debug]  Tftpd - Starting wait
19:30:47.354713 [debug]  TftpClient - RRQ received for vomp-dongle
19:30:47.354759 [info]   TftpClient - File: '/usr/share/vdr-plugin-vompserver/vomp-dongle'
19:30:54.409469 [info]   TftpClient - File transfer finished
19:30:54.409698 [info]   TftpClient - processMessage terminating connection

As you can see its identical.

So is my MediaMVP somehow broken or am I missing here something?

VOMP General / MVP / All recordings are not listed
September 30, 2007, 19:18:11
I happened to notice that when I have an external harddisk (usb) connected to vdr server and mapped to a directory under vdr recordings directory womp does not show all recordings on that drive/directory. I tried to search for if this is a known feature (bug) but could not find anything.

As said I have an external usb drive which has 90 some recordings on it. There is also one tv-series there which has 60 some recordings. Womp shows only these recordings and no others on the same disk. The others are shown normally on vdr but not on womp.

Vomp For Windows / Client halts occasionally
September 21, 2007, 19:28:19
I have not found any reason or any pattern when or in which situations this happens but the client can hang several times during a playback of a recording. This may happen in full screen and window mode. If client has stopped responding changing between full screen and window mode leaves screen blank (white). It can only be stopped (i.e. alt+F4). Sometimes after restarting the client playback can be resumed where it hang but sometimes the playback starts from the beginning.

This is what is last in the log

I have one machine which acts as a test environment on which I have compiled vompserver. Then I have another machine which acts as my normal vdr device. I have copied the compiled vompserver to the normal vdr device and both macines are running. When I start windows client I get a list of servers as I should but when I select my test machine the client just dies. It works fine on the normal vdr machine. They are both in the same private network with identical vdr versions and linux versions. Even iptables are the same. And on both machines I get the same line in the log:

ERROR: plugin '<no name given>' called cPlugin::ConfigDirectory(), which is not thread safe!

How do I find out why its working on one but not in the other? The funny thing is that it worked on the test machine while I was testing it in the beginning.

Anybody? I really am out of ideas.  :'(
