Vomp For Windows / Dual-display & full-screen
September 28, 2008, 10:47:11
I've got a dual-monitor Windows Vista setup and I very often watch TV on the secondary display while doing something else on the primary display. My problem is that when Vomp is running on the secondary display and I select full-screen, it just disappers instead of filling the screen. It's still available in the tray and Alt-Enter will do the trick of returning to the state before selecting full-screen. On the primary display full-screen works ok.

I know this is probably not the most typical setup, but probably shouldn't be extremely big tweak to get working correctly.

Thanks in advance,

I compiled the new 0.2.3 plugin and tried it out with 0.2.3 dongle. Didn't succeed that well.

When I try to list the recordings, the screen goes black and mvp stops responding to anything.

The vompserver.log just tells that the mvp closed the TCP connection:

19:46:57.496933 [debug]  TCP - TCP has closed socket
19:46:57.497008 [debug]  TCP - TCP has closed socket
19:46:57.497023 [debug]  Client - Received packet, length = 32
19:46:57.497036 [debug]  Client - Detected connection closed
19:46:57.497050 [debug]  Client - MVP client destructor
19:46:57.497062 [debug]  Client - Clean config
19:46:57.507608 [debug]  Config - 2

Tried it with vdr-1.4.0 and vdr-1.3.46. I have the US version of the mvp and
I've been running quite succesfully all the previous versions of vomp including 0.2.2.

Another thing is that for some reason the timer list is empty (and is also empty for
0.2.2). Could it be something to do with vdradmin-am I'm running.
Anybody else use vomp and vdradmin-am? My entries in the timers.conf look like this:

1:T-8438-4097-33:2006-06-02:1925:2003:99:99:Rallin MM-sarja| Kreikka:<vdradmin-am><epgid>506</epgid><autotimer>2</autoti
mer><bstart>5</bstart><bstop>5</bstop><pattern>Rallin MM-sarja</pattern></vdradmin-am>

Does the vompserver get confused with the vdradmin-am tags?

VOMP General / MVP / VOMP in 64-bit
May 28, 2006, 19:57:13
I'm running my VDR (and obviously vompserver) in 64-bit environment.
The default tar file won't compile, but the tweak is to add -fPIC option
to CXXFLAGS in the Makefile and the same thing to libdvbmpeg Makefile's CFLAGS.
It would be nice to have it there by default as it doesn't do harm in i386 either
(as far as I understand).

Thanks,

VOMP General / MVP / Re: Translation Efforts

Updated Finnish

It might make sense to switch the main development platform into 1.3.x branch as I think that 95% of people use 1.3.x VDR and is probably even more mature than 1.2.26. The last 1.2.26 release is anyway from year 2003. Just my two cents, no offense intended.

VOMP General / MVP / DVB Subtitles
January 01, 2006, 20:22:46
Any plans for supporting DVB titles in VOMP client? It's clear number one in my wish list
for VOMP (even before pausing live TV or managing timers). All foreign language programs
are subtitled in Finland as we don't do any dubbing at all and the national broadcasting company (YLE)
is using DVB subtitles mechanism for that (which is different from teletext subtitles that some countries
are using).

DVB subtitles patch for VDR is here: http://virtanen.org/vdr/subtitles/
And specification is here http://webapp.etsi.org/workprogram/Report_WorkItem.asp?WKI_ID=15155

My shot at Finnish translation. Not tested as I haven't had time to set up the development environment.

VOMP General / MVP / No video with mediamvp from US
November 05, 2005, 17:35:43
I've been trying to get vomp working with my vdr setup. Everything else went smoothly but I get no video. Menus and audio are working ok. I have bought my mediamvp from US, but I live in the PAL part of the world and that is probably the reason for lacking the video?

My MVP outputs NTSC video (menus) with vomp. It would be great if it would be possible to force it into PAL mode from the options menu.

I'm running dongle 0.0.15 and today's vompserver from cvs.

Thanks,

kml
