Hi,

personally, I use VOMP for years and I am just about updating the VDR server to version 2.x

Using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Server 64bit, but there seems not to be any PPAs available with pre-compiled vdr-plugin-vompserver - unfortunately...

Compiling and binding the sources of the plugin does not work-out. The Linker stops:

collect2: error: ld terminated with signal 6 [Canceled], core dumped
/usr/bin/ld: ld: wcsrtombs.c:99: __wcsrtombs: Zusicherung »data.__outbuf[-1] == '\0'« nicht erfüllt.
make: *** [libvdr-vompserver.so] Error 1

I am not sure what the origin of this error is. For test purposes I compiled XVDR-plugin myself and this did work out perfectly...

I got the same ld error on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS no matter if I used Ubuntu-package VDR 2.03, or a PPA package with VDR 2.1.6 (yaVDR/unstable) or even some different VDR 2.1.1.

I appreciate any help and hints.

Cheers,

VOMP General / MVP / Developer Environment
January 10, 2010, 15:38:28
Hi,

I trie to set up a developer environment for the VOMP Client.
I used the makedevenv-5 and -6 scripts and tried on Ubuntu 8.10 (did not work)
and then Ubuntu 6.06 (as 6.10 is not fully supported any more -> repositories etc.)

Both script obviously have problems with the crosstoosl and end in the errror

As I am very new to crosscompiling; whats' wrong here?

Suggestion: Maybe providing the Environment as a virutal machine (as i prepare on my system could help and ease life

thank you very much for your batch which solved obviously my troubles.

Keep you up to date whether other difficulties occur - my parents are for sure the most ciritcal testers ;-)

Ok, I'll try to firgure out whether there is a problem with the lenght.

The Marvell 6281 (Sheeva Platform) seems to be a valuable platform for SoHo video recorder - so why not.

VOMP General / MVP / Vomp on ARM/Marvell
December 28, 2009, 15:09:26
Hi,

my Debian/Squeeze installation with VDR 1.6.0 (standard ARM repostiory) is working stable.
I downloaded the latest version (0.3.1) as source code and compiled it succesfully. The vompserver
does start up but the MVP has some difficulties in getting the channel list.

As a similar configuration on x86 is working without troubles, I assume it is a special issue with
the vompserver running on ARM.

Here is the output of /tmp/vompserver.log

The channel-list seems to be transmitted correctly, However on the MVP client only

"Das Erst" (without e!) is listed as first channels and then a lot of others (the second channel "ZDF") are omitted completly.

Any idea?

Best regards,
Michael

VOMP General / MVP / Repository for Squeeze/Debian
December 26, 2009, 16:34:51
Hi,

I am currently evaluating the Marvell Kirkwood architecture and was surprised about the first good results.
However, Vomp-server seems not to be available in the standard debian/Squeeze repository. As I have nearly
no expierience with cross-compiler I'd like to avoid re-compiling all the VDR just to add vomp. Would be great
if there is a possibility just compile the VOMP-plugin without the VDR on the ARM (no cross-compiling).

Thanks for any hints.
Michael
