I've observed the same symptoms with my MVP. It seems that this is not only an isolated case.

Thank you. The suggested changes to the version number helped. At least the timer has been written to timers.conf.

VDR 1.3.20 worked fine for me, until now at least. Since you cannot make VOMP compatible to every VDR version, I will update to the latest version if there aren't any contrary reasons.

I have just installed VOMP client and dongle 0.2.1. I am using VDR 1.3.20 and I am still using mvploader as BOOTP and TFTP server.
When trying to set a timer from the EPG I always get the message "Failure setting timer" on TV. Looking to the log file on the VDR server I've found the following entries "Config - Config error: Section Timers not found" and after that "Client - Written config load failed packet".
As I have used the sample config files vomp.conf and vomp-MAC.conf like described on the homepage, I don't know what to do else to get the timers function.

With dongle 0.0.13 picture quality is fine again. Thanks!

It seems like the MVP switches from RGB mode to composite mode after booting.

I have a MVP version with SCART connector. Here you can see the pin assignment of a SCART connector:

Pin 16 shows if the video output is in composite mode or RGB mode. I have measured the voltage on that pin. During booting the voltage is more than 3V (RGB mode). After booting the voltage is under 1V (composite mode). With dongle 0.0.11 the voltage is always 3V.

I suppose that you have a MVP version with RCA connectors. In this case you probably wouldn't see any changes between dongle 0.0.11 and dongle 0.0.12.

The 16:9 letterbox works fine on my 4:3 TV.

Unfortunately the changes made for the actual dongle seem to have some side effects. I have a PAL version of the MediaMVP. The MediaMVP is not directly connected to the TV but looped through my satellite receiver.

First I have observed that the picture quality has get noisy (OSD and "Live TV"). The picture quality is fine during booting. With dongle 0.0.11 the picture quality is also fine (in every situation). I have made sure that the video output has been set to "RGB+composite".

Second the video output seems not to shut off entirely when going from "Live TV" into stand-by mode (this seems not to be a problem when going from OSD to stand-by mode). That means that when I activate the stand-by mode while running the satellite receiver in the background I don't get anymore the video of the satellite receiver on TV like with dongle 0.0.11.

I hope that you can also reproduce the problems.

Now that I have installed and evaluated VOMP, I have to say that I am impressed. The possibility to develop the dongle file and the server (plugin) all by himself gives the programmer a lot of advantages. I will also take a look at the VOMP development environment.

That drove me to a new idea for VOMP. When I power up my satellite receiver I always get a live picture showing the last selected channel. I think that this should also be possible with VOMP. There could be a selection menu where one could select either the OSD or the Live-TV to be shown after start.

While the MediaMVP should not only be a frontend for a satellite receiver, but also a general purpose multimedia player, there could also be other options in the menu, e.g. DVD, video or MP3 library. This would give the user the possibility to configure the default behavior of its MediaMVP, e.g. for being a DVD player.

I ask myself if this would be a big issue to implement.
