Title: Using DVB-T(2) SetTop-Boxes as HD-VOMP
Post by: petric on August 31, 2011, 19:40:50
Hello,

i have recently seen a couple of DVB-T(2) SetTop Boxes.

For example the Grundig GUD300HD which has the following connectors:
- SCART in
- SCART out
- HDMI
- USB
- TCP/IP Network
- Antenna in
- Antenna out

I have also seen that it is running Linux. I don't know what media processor this device uses.

Could this be a new HD VOMP replacement (perhaps using a custom firmware) ?

regards

Probably not, there are almost no SDK availiable for the Hardware decoders for most of devices I have checked and without chipset it is hard to check.
Anyway  certain Android based set top  will, if anything runs smoothly, serve as HD vomp replacement, see the other thread about it a vomp hd replacement.
I just need to finish the port.

Ok, hopefully a release of your development will get light in a nearer future - together with infos on which hardware this will run.

I will keep an eye on your thread.
