I'm a little bit confused, vomp needs of course a vomp dongle, since the main application is on the mvp in contrast to the other software except mvpmc. So a dongle which works with mvpserver is not the dongle you need for vomp, replace it with the vomp dongle and place addtionally the ver file into the directory.

Hello,

I still have some problems with MediaMVP H4 and vompserver. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I use vomp-dongle-0.2.6 and my dongle.bin.ver looks this way (in hex):
48 43 57 20  4d 56 50 00  00 00 00 28  00 01 00 00  01 01 00 00  01 01 33 00  00 00 00 00  00 00 00 00  00 00 00 00  00 00 00 00.
In the past I got it to work with the help of www.vdr-portal.de by adding the '33' to dongle.bin.ver. Sometimes it didn't work and stop with "Locating Server". Then it helped to delete "Last Power State" out of the config-file, but now this doesn't help anymore. TFTP, BOOTP and DHCP are activated.

I tried to find the error, and found out, that the last packet of dongle.bin that is send, doesn't get an ACK. I added some logging to the sourcefiles and this is what I get (just a part of the communication with concerning dongle.bin:

Hello,

I found the problem. I still don't get an ACK for the last packet but it works now. I didn't have a default router in my dhcpd.conf. Because of that it was not possible for the client to send packets to 255.255.255.255.

With this, it works great.

Hi!

I got my MediaMVP -boxes and noticed that they are H4 type.
I got vompserver running (0.2.6) and dongle starts to load.
On MVP screen it informs that Apllication is loading (or something similar), but after 7 white boxes it hangs.
On server it says:

08:01:08.679485 [debug]  TftpClient - Retransmitting buffer
08:01:09.144469 [debug]  TftpClient - Retransmitting buffer
08:01:09.144819 [debug]  TftpClient - Lost connection, exiting
08:01:09.779383 [debug]  TftpClient - Retransmitting buffer
08:01:09.779725 [debug]  TftpClient - Lost connection, exiting

And that's it.
I don't have dhcp -server running on my network and I'm using vompserver for bootp and tftp.

Edit: I installed dhcp -server to my network, and that solved the issue!
Now I have working MediaMVP H4 using vdr-1.4.7 and vompserver as backend!

Edit2: Yesterday I installed 0.2.7 and it's working like charm.
Just wish there were support for DVB subtitles and ttxtsubs
