How long should a playback take to start ?
I have just installed for the first time.
Live TV works great. 1-2 seconds to start then channel flips are almost instant.
If I start a recording it takes about 60 seconds to start. 50 seconds with the menu frozen on the option I just picked then about 10 seconds of black screen and then it starts. I can jump back and forward fine and it works great. If I stop it and restart another 60 seconds or so to get going again.
I have an old wired MVP box. It is wried on 10/100 MB network. The cable is fine as the MVP box is replacing a pc and that would start the playback in about 3-4 seconds.
The VDR server is an old enough pc A P-III 800 MHz (or so).
I am using vomp 0.3.0-8 on both the server and the MVP. I also tried 0.3.0 (same)
The server does have SOftdevice on it outputting to DirectFB on an i810 VGA board. Would this impact it ?
Why would this be far slower than live TV ? Have I got a bad seting ?
I'm not complaining - It is a great product. I'm just checking that its not just a bad setting on my side and everypone else is running far faster
