Hi - below is my conf file.
Looking the list of variables in your email, I see that there was no entry for "Force16x9"
Though I tried all the menu settings, Force16x9 doesn't seem to be set by vompserver
So I added "Force16x9 = No" by hand in the [TV] section.
- so now it works! - Thanks

Hi,

WSS doesn't appear to be working on this 0.3.0-10 - not sure when it stopped working as the last I was using was 0.2.7.6.1
My 4:3 recordings are now expanded to fill the 16:9 TV - so everyone needs a diet!
I tried the different settings, but none seem to change the aspect ratio.
The media player is also making 4:3 material expand to 16:9 - was OK before
What's wrong ?
Thx

Hi,

I see you made a useful improvement for the live TV EPG display
For recordings, the Up and Down arrow keys are still unused (available) for the scrolling feature description.
Would be nice ;D

I didn't update my patch for the scrolling of EPG programme summary. So confirmed it cannot be included.
My biggest issue is rather that I have no clue how to do scrolling now in Live-TV with the old remote. There is just no button left...
Any ideas?

Sorry I don't have a suggestion for this.
Guess I'm pretty happy with 0.2.7.6.1. and was hoping the functionality could/would remain as the core software was improved.
I'll look again
cheers

In everybody who is interested on this, I brought up some patches I found from others and mine.

Thanks hondansx !
Just want to check I'm doing things right, as some of the nice features of 0.2.7.6.1 seem to be missing in 0.3.0.1 - like the mediaplayer video and scrolling summary for long EPG entries from XMLTV.
Is that right?
Thanks

Eckebrecht,

What documentation did you use to get Xen working with vdr as a virtual machine? Any hints?

I'm also interested as I have a SuSe 10.3 "headless" vdr home server which also acts as mailserver, home automation and cctv server.
I have suffered problems with vdr (1.4.7, 1.60) locking up with 2 x Leadtek Winfast DTV1000 cards.
The machine still runs when vdr stops receiving TV, but vdr locks the DVB cards and the only way to get vdr running again is reboot the whole machine :(.  I assume you have similar probs?

Thanks!

Walter,
I'm using the 16x9 version (vomp-dongle-0.2.7-16x9-6.1-Yaris.tar.gz) because I assumed that was right for a 16x9 widescreen TV?
What's the difference between this and vomp-dongle-0.2.7-6.1-Yaris.tar.gz?
Thx

I guess a valuable solution would be branches in the cvs (was already discussed in some other thread) - but this depends on Chris.

So - for the moment sorry - but no better solution available.

Regards
Andreas

Thanks Andreas.
I tried the Yaris patch & dongle and got it to compile with VDR 1.6, seems to work well.
I found one problem though - the WSS (wide screen switching) doesn't seem to work any longer - at least on playback of recordings - an old 4:3 format recording is always shown widescreen.  The current version (and older official versions of VOMP) this function works.
Thanks for the good work - I look forward to seeing it integrated.

Hi keynet, Andreas,

I found a bug causing vomp to lock up when pressing back from an mp3. It was caused by my new gui code so I have applied a fix to the version in CVS.

Chris thanks for the fix.
Unfortunately when I todays latest cvs client + server it still crashes on exit from playing either a jpg or mp3  :(
The only thing I can think of is that I don't have the translation files in plugins/vompserver/ - do I need them if I'm just running English, if so where can I find them?

Thanks Andreas.
Unfortunately this version doesn't work with latest cvs.  Oh, and it's in German  :-\
Which version (e.g. cvs date) of the vompserver plugin is the dongle built for?

Chris - Would you consider giving Andreas write access to help development?
His contributions are really valuable.

VOMP General / MVP / Mediiaplayer > CVS
June 01, 2008, 12:15:21
Hi Andreas,

I'd like to build your new mediaplayer because the one in CVS is broken at the moment (when you exit playback, MVP crashes).
I know Chris has made quite a few changes recently.
Could you possibly commit your latest mediaplayer code to CVS so I can build it / test it / keep track of changes?
It will help all the users to test/feedback bugs

Thanks!

Thanks Chris.  Looks good now.
Just one minor cosmetic issue
- power up MVP in "off" state: LED is on
- turn on via remote - LED remains on
- turn off via remote - LED off.
So LED state inconsistent at power up
We could call it a feature, but as I noticed it thought I'd tell you...!

@keynet
Have you updated your server as well, the timer protokoll has changed.

Marten

Hi Marten.  I had the CVS from late on 29/10 so I thought I was up to date.  I have updated again, and now all is well, thanks.  BTW I found a daylight savings bug with repeating timers - this is probably VDR however?  Repeating timers (set for every day of the week for example) when setup before DST changed last week are now 1 hour too early.  Re-creating them fixes the problem.  Also, repeating timers only show the first event in vomp.  As a suggestion, it would be good to show the days like VDRadmin-AM does, or as a minimum flag that it's a repeating timer.

Chris & others FYI - built CVS from 30/10 and all good so far, live, recording, media (MP3 & photos)  ;D
Environment SuSe 10.3, VDR1.4.7, 2 old style MVP's.
Thanks for the good work and let me know when you need more testing.

Oops I spoke too soon.
The names of the programmes seem to be truncated in the timer list, and also when viewing/editing them in the editor. They seem to record OK and are listed correctly in the recordings list
